Amazing results for this Lee's Summit Mo cabinet painting project
July 14, 2026
We recently completed an exciting cabinet painting project in Lee's Summit, MO for. The kitchen needed more than just a fresh coat of paint, so we made a few thoughtful modifications to lift the whole space and give the cabinets a finished, polished look.
As part of the job we installed new crown moulding, base shoe, and scribe moulding. The crown moulding adds a clean transition from the cabinet tops to the ceiling, the base shoe gives a neat finish along the floor, and the scribe moulding helped close small gaps where cabinets met walls and countertops. These details make a big visual difference and help the painted finish read as part of the overall design.
After the moulding work, we prepped and painted the kitchen cabinets. For this project we used a two tone approach. The main cabinets were painted a light gray, and the island received a darker gray accent. That contrast creates a focal point at the island while keeping the rest of the kitchen bright and open.
Choosing two shades of gray lets homeowners get a modern, cohesive look without overwhelming the space. The lighter main cabinets help reflect light and make the room feel larger. The darker island anchors the layout and adds depth, which works especially well in open kitchens where the island plays a central role.
Throughout the project we focused on clean lines and consistent color. The new moulding pieces were integrated so they look like part of the original cabinetry, and the paint work was applied to provide an even, uniform finish across all surfaces. This combination of trim work and careful painting brings the whole room together.
Homeowners in Lee's Summit, MO appreciated that the update refreshed their kitchen without a full remodel. Cabinet painting with added moulding is a smart way to change the style of a space while controlling cost and downtime. It keeps the cabinet layout and function intact, while delivering a noticeably updated appearance.
Riley Designs Kc handled the project from the trim additions through final paint, creating a balanced, modern kitchen that blends light and dark grays for visual interest. If you like the idea of updating your cabinets with new moulding or a two tone paint scheme, this Lee's Summit cabinet painting project is a good example of what can be achieved with focused, well planned work.
